
Foreign Minister Jalil Abbas Jilani is set to lead the Pakistani delegation at the 22nd Meeting of the Shanghai Cooperation Organization’s (SCO) Council of Heads of Government. This meeting is scheduled to take place on the 26th of the month in Kyrgyzstan and is being held at the invitation of Chairman of the Cabinet of Ministers of the Kyrgyz Republic, Akylbek Japarov.
The SCO Council of Heads of Government meeting will be attended by the Heads of Government from China, Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, Russia, Tajikistan, and Uzbekistan, as well as the Vice-President of Iran and the Foreign Ministers of Pakistan and India. Additionally, SCO Observer States Belarus and Mongolia, along with Guest State Turkmenistan, will participate in the meeting.
This Council serves as the second-highest forum within the SCO and primarily focuses on areas such as the economy, finance, commerce, and socio-economic cooperation. Pakistan is poised to assume the Chair of the SCO Council of Heads of Government during this meeting.
Foreign Minister Jilani is also expected to engage in bilateral meetings on the sidelines of the SCO Council of Heads of Government gathering.
