
Caretaker Prime Minister Anwarul Haq Kakar led a review meeting in which the timely supply of urea to farmers for the upcoming Rabi crop was emphasized. The meeting delved into various aspects of the fertilizer supply chain and issued directives to improve its efficiency.
Prime Minister Kakar emphasized the need for an adequate buffer stock of fertilizer to meet Rabi crop demands. He called for close monitoring of fertilizer prices by district administrations to ensure affordability for farmers.
The meeting included briefings on recent fertilizer production figures, expected demand, and the decisions of the Economic Coordination Committee to maintain a smooth fertilizer supply.
The relevant ministries were directed to create a comprehensive action plan for continuous fertilizer supply for the Rabi crop. Discussions covered raw material prices for fertilizer production, current fertilizer prices, gas supply to fertilizer factories, and demand.
The participation of caretaker federal ministers and senior officials underscored the government’s commitment to supporting the agriculture sector by ensuring a reliable supply of essential fertilizers in preparation for the Rabi crop season.
