Shane Watson returns to Quetta Gladiators to win PSL 9

Lahore : As Pakistan Super League (PSL) season 9 progresses, Quetta Gladiators head coach and former Australian cricketer Shane Watson exuded confidence in his team’s potential to win the coveted trophy, citing their outstanding performance in the tournament so far.

In an interview with Watson, they reflected on the Gladiators’ journey, emphasizing creating an environment conducive to players realizing their full potential. “I’m very pleased with the way the guys played,” Watson noted, underscoring the team’s collective effort and determination to step up when needed.

Watson, who transitioned from player to head coach, described the experience as less stressful and thoroughly enjoyable, highlighting the privilege of leading a team like Quetta Gladiators. He emphasized the importance of creating an environment where players feel empowered to trust their instincts and fully commit to their shots, mirroring his own approach during his playing days.

Addressing the team’s tactical decisions, Watson shed light on the choice to name Saud Shakil as the opening batsman, praising Shakil’s versatility and skill set that effectively complemented the team’s strategy.
